Become a Green Halo Scholar

Starting in the summer before your senior year, we meet weekly to walk you through the college admissions process. From essay writing to financial aid, no topic is left uncovered.

As a Green Halo Scholar, you will have access to the benefits of our college partnerships, including on-campus support, travel assistance for college visits to partner schools, and a list of colleges that meet fully-demonstrated financial need. We also host visits with college admissions officers from around the country, allowing you to learn more about schools that might be right for you.

Thanks to the generosity of our community partners, our scholars have access to tutoring, essay coaching, and ACT/SAT preparation at no cost to you!

Every Green Halo Scholar works one-on-one with a trained volunteer mentor for the duration of their senior year. This mentor will help you stay organized and encouraged throughout the admissions process.

We use our community to help you learn about potential careers by setting up informational interviews, career panels, and job shadowing opportunities.

Participating in Green Halo Scholars will qualify you for application fee waivers, making it more affordable for you to apply to colleges that are the right fit for you.

College textbooks can be expensive, and we provide reimbursement for college textbooks for our Green Halo alumni on a first-come, first-served basis.
